Aanleiding en reikwijdte

• De Europese regels voor gezinshereniging zijn vastgelegd in de Gezinsherenigingsrichtlijn (2003/86/EG). Dit onderzoek inventariseert hoe het gezinsherenigingsbeleid zich in de EU-lidstaten ontwikkelde en hoe landen het beleid vormgegeven.
• Het onderzoek brengt juridische en beleidsmatige ontwikkelingen voor gezinshereniging in kaart vanaf 2017 t/m februari 2025.
• Voor landen die de Gezinsherenigingsrichtlijn niet toepassen, zoals Ierland en Servië, biedt het onderzoek een vergelijkend perspectief.
