The EMN conducts various types of studies on the migration and asylum policies of EU Member States and EMN Observer Countries. Research topics are jointly determined by the Member States and the European Commission. The study reports provide a comparative analysis of policies across the participating countries. EMN Netherlands' benchmarks and two-pagers compare the Dutch study findings with those of other European countries.

• EMN studies provide a comparative analysis of topics of immediate interest to policymakers and other stakeholders related to migration and asylum in the EU. Each year, the EMN publishes three to four studies.
• EMN informs are studies conducted over a shorter timeframe. It may consist of a study initiated by a Member State or a summary of several information requests (ad-hoc queries).
• Information requests (ad-hoc queries) are an EMN tool for collecting information on migration and asylum policies in EU Member States and EMN Observer Countries. The European Commission or a Member State may initiate a query, with a maximum of 120 per year. Below you can find the queries initiated by the Netherlands.
