The United Kingdom becomes Observer Country to the European Migration Network

The European Migration Network (EMN) has a new Observer Country. On 19 June, Beate Gminder, Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs at the European Commission, and Dan Hobbs, the UK Director-General for the Migration and Borders Group, signed the Administrative Arrangement for the United Kingdom to become one of the network's Observer Countries.

This new cooperation focuses primarily on the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of migration and asylum.

The United Kingdom is the tenth Observer Country of the network, following Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Ukraine, and Serbia. As an Observer Country, the United Kingdom will contribute to EMN studies and conferences. Through its research findings, the EMN informs policymakers in EU Member States and the European Commission about migration policy in both the EU Member States and the EMN observer countries.

The EMN welcomes the United Kingdom and looks forward to a successful cooperation.
